Our Annual Reports and IRS Form 990s help us share important financial information with you – the individual supporters who help make our work possible! Our work goes far beyond the stories these reports can tell, however. We hope you’ll join us at an event, read our e-Newsletters, and contact us to learn more about the Main Street to the Mountains trail system and our private land conservation work.

GVLT is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Our fiscal year is July 1 – June 30. Our tax identification number is 81-0464513.

ARFY11
Fiscal Year 2011

This past year GVLT embarked upon its third decade of serving and enhancing the lives of all the residents of the Gallatin Valley and beyond. Who could have imaged when our founder, Chris Boyd, first set us on the course of community trails and land conservation, that in a little over two decades we would have helped to catalyze and build 60 miles of trails in our Main Street to the Mountains trail system or have partnered with 86 visionary families to conserve over 37,000 thousand acres of agricultural land, open space and wildlife habitat.  Thank you all for helping us to achieve these milestones.  We couldn’t have done it without you.

Fiscal Year 2010

Despite challenging economic conditions across the country, Fiscal Year 2010 was one of GVLT’s most successful in private land conservation and community trails. Thankfully, a combination of prudent fiscal directives from the Board and excellent financial oversight by staff meant that the organization was able to finish the year in the black, although well below our financial goals for the year.

Fiscal Year 2009

Gallatin Valley Land Trust has had an exceptional year in many ways. Thanks to your support, we’ve opened two new destination trails: Hedvig’s Trail at the Snowfill Recreation Area, and the Drinking Horse Mountain Trail and Kevin Mundy Memorial Bridge at the USFWS Fish Technology Center. We’ve partnered with farm and ranch families to expand the landscapes permanently conserved for the benefit of all of us who live or visit this remarkable place. However, it has been financially challenging to keep these programs on track.

Fiscal Year 2008

2008 was an exceptional year for Gallatin Valley Land Trust—your land trust—in every respect. We worked with a diverse group of Montana families to complete more conservation easements than in any prior year. We advanced several major trail projects, which culminated in the Main Street to the Mountains trail system reaching 50 miles and achieving its long-awaited connection to Main Street. You, our members, have been generous in supporting our expanded staffing and four major ongoing capital projects for the trail system.
