National Trails Day
Saturday, June 6, 2015

Every year, GVLT and dozens of local volunteers join communities across the country to celebrate National Trails Day by helping to maintain the Main Street to the Mountains trail system. This year, we will be resurfacing some of the most heavily used parts of the Gallagator Trail on Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event is perfect for kids, families, and people of varying physical abilities.

Volunteer registration begins at 8:30 at the new GVLT office, 212 S. Wallace. Work crews will head out at 9:00 am sharp. Projects will wrap up around 12:00 and lunch, generously provided by Schnee’s Boots & Shoes, will be served back at the GVLT office.

This event is free and open to the public.  No reservations are necessary. Volunteers should come prepared with sunscreen, weather appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, hat and gloves. GVLT will provide tools but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows if you have them.  Parking is available in the GVLT lot at the corner of S. Wallace and E. Curtiss, or in the Burke Park lot at the base of Peets Hill.
