Make Tracks for Trails
February 28, 2016

Celebrate all that our winter trails have to offer at this fun, family-friendly community event, Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Lindley Center. Whether learning something new, or simply playing in the snow, we’re looking forward to spending the afternoon with friends and neighbors outside, on the trails.

10:00 – 6:00 pm

Come and cheer the athletes at the 21st annual Traditional GVLT Ski-A-Thon.  Participants raise a minimum of $50 in pledges for GVLT and the chance to win glory and prizes. Register the day of the event.  Details can be found:

4:00 – 6:00 pm

  • Guided ski tours of Highland Glen with BSF Nordic athletes
  • Free trial skis for kids thanks to Sacajawea Middle School
  • Ask-a Groomer — BSF fearless trail groomers are on hand to explain just what makes those trails so awesome!
  • Snow Yoga with FLOW Outside, combining yoga and snowshoeing in the great outdoors
  • Fat Bike demos courtesy of Bangtail Bike & Skis, and group rides with Bozeman’s own Project X
  • Indoor and outdoor kids’ activities provided by Bozeman Parks & Rec
  • Family Sledding (enough said)

At 6:00, stick around for a twilight ski, bonfire, hot soup from Feed, Pizza Campania, Sola, and Starkey’s, and cold beer from Bozeman Brewing, live music from the Bridger Creek Boys, and the chance to win great prizes.

All activities are free and open to the public, although space is limited on certain activities.  Dinner tickets are $10/adult, $5/kids 2 and up.

National Trails Day

Every year, GVLT and dozens of local volunteers join communities across the country to celebrate National Trails Day by helping to maintain the Main Street to the Mountains trail system. This year, we resurfaced some of the most heavily used parts of the Gallagator Trail. Stay tuned for details about the 2016 National Trails Day project and activities!

Evening on the Land
Next Evening on the Land: Saturday, August 12, 2017

Experience the natural splendor of a privately conserved property and join GVLT as we celebrate our 25th anniversary and the importance of our open lands. This year’s event will be hosted by Mark and Nan Kehke on recently conserved land along the banks of the East Gallatin River. The night will feature a meal crafted with locally sourced ingredients by renowned chef, Daniel Wendell. Enjoy unique experiential  live auction packages, lively music, and dancing under the stars of the big sky.
