Elin Hert
DEVELOPMENT AND OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

“As a GVLT enthusiast since its inception, it is an honor to be able to support a staff who works with local landowners, helps protect clean water and wildlife habitat, builds and cares for trails, and assures that GVLT can fulfill its mission.”
Elin joined her favorite local nonprofit organization, GVLT, in 2023 as the Development and Office Administrator after a 35-year career with her favorite local for-profit business, Off the Beaten Path. Having grown up in the Chicago area, it was a family vacation to the Dakotas, Wyoming, and Colorado that provided her with direction—and that direction was west! After attending the University of Wyoming and graduating with a degree in organizational communication, she migrated north, spending some extraordinarily fun years in Jackson, Wyoming, before landing in Bozeman for the long haul. A passion for the mountains has always taken Elin to the trails, with countless outings informing her about western weather, water, wildlife, and wilderness. She has watched the Gallatin Valley grow and change over the course of decades, and with a passion for living in a healthy, happy community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, GVLT feels like a good fit. Elin is grateful every day for the abundance of trails in the Gallatin Valley and beyond, and when she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her hiking…with a friend, her husband Doug, son Spencer, daughter Paige, or on her own. She loves to travel, visit national parks, go to concerts, attend movies and plays, read, learn, and explore.
