“It's incredibly rewarding to work for an organization whose benefits I experience firsthand every day. I use our trails daily and get to enjoy the scenic views of the beautiful open spaces we help preserve!”
Ellie joined GVLT in the fall of 2025, bringing a unique blend of science, education, and community engagement to the team. Originally from Washington, she moved to Montana to attend Montana State University, where she earned her degree in environmental science. After college, she completed her yoga teacher training in India and spent the next several years in Bozeman teaching yoga and working at Bridger Brewing. She later earned her master’s degree in teaching in Oregon and spent four years as a high school science teacher, where she found joy in connecting with people and sparking curiosity about the natural world. Most recently, she served as the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for the Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District, deepening her passion for bringing people together around shared conservation goals. Now back in the mountains she loves, Ellie is thrilled to serve as GVLT’s Development Project Manager, where she’s dedicated to building relationships within the Gallatin Valley community and helping protect open lands and the trails she loves exploring with her partner, Forrester, and their dog, Gizmo. Outside of work, she loves traveling, creating art, hiking with friends, and ordering charcuterie boards for the table.
