Random Acts of Silliness presents its 6th annual Bumblewood Thicket!
Nestled in the foothills of the Bridger Mountains, hugging the rambling curves of the East Gallatin River, and tucked into a brambly patch of forest, Bumblewood Thicket is an enchanted (and enchanting) fairy village in Bozeman’s Glen Lake Rotary Park. It is invisible to human eyes almost all the time. Luckily, in the golden glow of late summer, the spells are lifted, and the fairies make their tiny town visible to human eyes for a few weeks. We may never know why the fairies lift the spell, but we do know that the annual Bumblewood Thicket experience is a gift to our community. Visitors leave the village feeling reconnected with the world of magic, filled with wonder and whimsy, and perhaps a sprinkle of pixie dust to carry them through the year.
GVLT is proud to be a presenting partner of Bumblewood Thicket since its inception.
Call for Volunteers
Random Acts of Silliness is now signing up Friends of the Fairies (FoFs) to volunteer at Bumblewood Thicket 2025!
They are looking for friendly folks to serve as ambassadors at the fairy village: greeting visitors, sprinkling pixie dust, and answering questions. No prior experience, magical skills, or knowledge of fairies required, just a lot of enthusiasm and a sense of whimsy. Volunteers should be aged 18 or older—or 16+ if accompanied by an adult who is also volunteering.
