Justin Barth

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

“I love to connect with GVLT’s broad network of generous supporters to learn about each individual’s unique connection to our open lands and trails.”

On Justin's first day in Bozeman, he used the trail on Peets Hill to commute to work through fields of arrowleaf balsamroot, lupine, and golden retrievers. He read the signage at the bottom of the sledding hill and learned about GVLT's unique work protecting land and providing recreational opportunities in this special place. It was only a matter of time until he joined GVLT's NextGen Advisory Board and subsequently the GVLT Development team. As Director of Development, Justin establishes the vision and strategy for GVLT's fundraising program. He also connects directly with GVLT's loyal and dedicated Conservator's Circle donors, which is his favorite part of the job. Prior to GVLT, Justin's employment included a tour of Montana's National Park friend groups, including stints as the Director of Education for the Glacier Institute and Senior Manager of Foundation Relations for Yellowstone Forever. Justin holds degrees in biology and environmental studies from Pacific Lutheran University and a Nonprofit Management Certificate from Notre Dame University. Justin grew up in Kalispell, which he regularly visits to see his family and his beloved cabin in the stunning North Fork of the Flathead. He enjoys spending as much time as possible on GVLT's trail network with his wife Ellen, their son Whalen, and their playful pup Kinni.
