Laine has dedicated her career to land protection, community-centered conservation, and strategic landscape planning. She joined GVLT in 2026 as Lands Director and is thrilled to be leading strategic efforts to protect Southwest Montana's working lands, open space, water, and wildlife habitat. She began her conservation career in the nonprofit sector, managing habitat restoration projects and monitoring plant communities. Prior to joining GVLT, she served as the Parks Development Manager for the City of Bellingham Parks & Recreation, where she managed capital projects and administered the Greenways Program through acquisition and protection of the city's open spaces, urban forests, shorelines, and interconnected trail systems. Her extensive background includes working as the Conservation Manager for the Jackson Hole Land Trust, where she had the privilege of working with private landowners throughout northwest Wyoming on complex land protection and acquisition projects. She is deeply inspired by the rugged beauty and rich agricultural heritage of Southwest Montana and is committed to protecting these irreplaceable landscapes for future generations. Outside of GVLT, Laine enjoys exploring trails on foot or by bike with her two pups, Bridger and Swami.
