“I strive to live in a world where the outdoors is accessible to everyone. It is a privilege to work at GVLT, where that world becomes a reality.”
Lily joined GVLT in January 2026 as a Big Sky Watershed Corps Member. She grew up in New Jersey and attended school at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she fell in love with conservation and wildlife ecology. With the outdoors playing a large part throughout her life, Lily decided to pursue a fieldwork-oriented position with the Montana Conservation Corps after graduating. She served as a mesic crew lead for two seasons, working with ranchers in the Northern Great Plains to restore and preserve water on the prairie. There, she became knowledgeable in beaver mimicry techniques and was converted into a true “beaver-believer.” As much as she loved the Corps’ dirtbag lifestyle, Lily wanted to experience what goes into planning, managing, and sustaining conservation projects. She decided to apply to Big Sky Watershed Corps, was accepted, and placed at GVLT’s headquarters. She is excited to broaden her areas of expertise by managing and maintaining trail projects in and around the Gallatin Valley. Although Lily is now working in the mountains, the people, wildlife, and sky of the Great Plains will always hold a special place in her heart.
