Zane joined the GVLT team in spring 2024 and serves as Conservation Project and GIS Manager. In this role, she leads conservation projects in Gallatin County and provides Geographic Information System (GIS) support for GVLT’s land protection efforts. She is passionate about helping landowners achieve their conservation goals and preserving Southwest Montana’s scenic and productive landscapes. Zane brings a strong background in natural resources, with experience in applied agricultural research, wildlife conservation initiatives, and geospatial analysis. Prior to GVLT, she was a graduate research assistant at Montana State University and worked with Bozeman-based nonprofits, including the Gallatin Watershed Council and Round River Conservation Studies. Zane holds a Bachelor of Science in geospatial and environmental analysis and a Master of Science in land resources and environmental sciences from Montana State University. Originally from Upstate New York, she enjoys skiing, biking, spending time in the mountains and on rivers with her husband, and reading with her cat.
