“I am really excited to work with landowners to help them achieve their conservation goals, while also preserving the natural resources, agricultural heritage, and open space that shapes our community.”
Zane joined GVLT in April 2024 as a Conservation Project Specialist with a strong background in natural resource issues in southwest Montana. Prior to joining the GVLT team, Zane served an AmeriCorps term with the Gallatin Watershed Council supporting collaborative stewardship and stream restoration projects throughout the watershed. She also worked as a spatial analyst for Round River Conservation Studies focusing on wildlife conservation initiatives. Most recently, she was a graduate research assistant at Montana State University conducting on-farm studies on soil health responses to cropping systems across Montana. She received her Bachelor of Science in geospatial and environmental analysis and her Master of Science in land resources and environmental sciences, both from Montana State University. Originally from Cherry Valley, New York, Zane loves skiing, mountain biking, and spending time on rivers. In her free time, you can find her exploring the local mountains with her husband, David, or hanging out with her cat, Tevye.
